Alaska Fishing-Wilderness Place Lodge Itinerary

Arrival:
Guests leave for the lodge from Rust's Flying Service at Anchorage Lake Hood (adjacent to Anchorage International Airport) at 11:00 AM unless arranged otherwise. It is recommended for the fishermen to arrive in Anchorage on the day before their trip to the lodge. We are happy to help suggest convenient Anchorage hotels for lodging the night prior to your flight for our lodge. Upon your arrival to Anchorage the evening before your flight to the lodge, call Rust's Flying Service at (907) 243-1595 for a complementary shuttle pick-up.

Departure:
On the last day of your trip you can fish the majoriy of the morning hours. Packing your bags the night before helps maximize your time on the water the following morning. The float plane arrives on the Yentna river approximately 11:30 and you can plan to depart the lodge at 11:45 AM, arriving back in Anchorage by 12:30 PM. It is best to allow several additional hours in Anchorage before flying home from the Anchorage Int'l Airport.

Daily Fishing:
This is your trip, plan it as you please! Your personal guide(s): 1 guide/ 2-3 fishermen, will coordinate your daily fishing schedule based on your preferences. Fishing hours for Alaska king salmon in June and early July are 6 am - 11 pm. Most fishing guests hit the water early, in time for the 6 am opener. For the remainder of the summer (sockeye, silver, pink and chum salmon + trout), legal fishing hours are 24 hours/day. Most people still choose to fishing the early morning and evening hours as they present the best fishing action. The remainder of the day is up to you. Our chefs can cater to your many needs while fishing. For the early risers who plan to maximize their fishing time, we offer hot breakfast delivered on the water around 8am each day. Fishermen also have the option of an in-lodge breakfast at the same 8am hour. Similarly, lunch can be delivered on the water, or may be enjoyed in the lodge dining room at noon each day. Arrangements for your group's meal schedule must be made with the chef a day prior. A 4-course gourmet dinner is served in the main lodge each evening at 6pm, with hors d' oeuvres served during the 5 pm happy hour. We do our best to accommodate your personal preferences when it comes to fishing hours. Our only request is to give our lodge fishing guide staff ample rest each day. They clean and care for all your fish and they do take much time to attend to this when you arrive back at the lodge each day.
