Wilderness Place Lodge is a fly-in Alaska fishing lodge and wilderness retreat located off the road system northwest of Anchorage. Guests travel by floatplane into a remote river setting where guided fishing, comfortable private cabins, hearty meals, and personalized service are all part of the experience.

Our lodge is a strong fit for small groups, families, couples, fishermen & fisherwomen, nature lovers, photographers, and travelers who want an authentic Alaska wilderness trip without having to coordinate every detail on their own.

How Much Time Should You Spend in Alaska?

As all of our trip packages originate from close proximity to Anchorage, you can do a lot in just under a week.  Do plan for at least one travel day from your home to Anchorage and back.  Pretty much all our guests arrive in Anchorage the day prior to the start of their trip with us. Instead of trying to visit every region of Alaska, focus on a trip plan that maximizes your time in the field.

Our packages avoid complicated logistics and maximize guest’s access to remote rivers, lakes, mountains, glaciers, and wilderness areas.

How to Think About Budget and Value

When comparing Alaska lodges, tours, and packages, look beyond the starting price. A lower advertised rate may not include flights, meals, gear, guides, transportation, taxes, licenses, beverages, or gratuities.

Wilderness Place Lodge packages are designed to include the major pieces of your trip up front, so you can better understand the real value and all parts of your daily itinerary before you book.

What Our Customer are Saying

Wilderness Place Lodge guests come for the adventure, the fishing and the Wilderness.  They leave with great memories of that and so much more….

10/10 for Wilderness Place, great fishing, awesome people, beautiful place!
My trip to Wilderness Place was nothing short of amazing. The location and scenery was breathtaking, the food was absolutely top notch and the staff and fishing guides were both great to work with and super fun to chat and hang out with! My cabin and accommodations were very cozy and comfortable, and while I didn’t need anything that wasn’t already thought of and provided, multiple staff members checked in with me throughout my stay to make sure I wasn’t in need of anything. I traveled to Alaska for the fishing and while that was great (caught a lot of fish and multiple species thanks to the great guide staff) this place, like Alaska as a whole, has so much for to offer than just that. I would highly recommend this lodge and look forward to getting back up there!

The ultimate salmon fishing experience —
While the lodge is in on a perfect salmon stream in the middle of no where, the food was absolutely marvelous – meals you would expect in better restaurants. The attention to detail by the entire staff was excellent, from the chef and wait crew to the fishing guides who were with us from sunrise to sunset – if we wanted. While none of our party would consider ourselves avid fishermen, the guides taught us how to fish for salmon on the creek and also gave us lessons in fly fishing.
This vacation should be added to the top of your ‘bucket list’.
