Alaska Fishing Guide Jobs
Positions Filled. Our lodge hires a core team of 8 fishing guides for the summer season. Our guide team works together to provide a high level of service to our guests on the river. This is a unparalleled experience for a service-oriented individual who has a well-established skillset in both spin and fly fishing. Much training is provided pre-season by lodge management, but all our fishing guides should have basic skills and experience in power boat operation and safety, oaring, spin fishing and fly fishing. Main Lodge Worker / Guide Apprentice
Position Filled We hire one lodge worker / guide apprentice each summer. This position offers exposure to many different areas of our lodge operation including customer service, boat driving, float plane unloading, grounds-keeping and dishwashing just to name a few. Position not available for 2017 Now hiring one individual to maintain and manage our remote fly-in Alaska fishing lodge property commencing June, 2016. This is a seasonal position as our lodge opens in June each summer and closes late August each year. It is most important that we find a candidate that loves nature, people and customer service. Someone who is dependable, works well with others and is capable of working without constant supervision. Character is important to us. No drugs. No alcohol abuse please. We have written policies all our staff must abide by. This is a position open initially as a 2016 summer job with possible annual career potential if we find the right fit for us. Skills: well-rounded experience with basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, outboard motor maintenance, basic gas and basic diesel engine maintenance. We have a 10 acre property with multiple buildings that require constant preventative maintenance and upkeep, all with electric and plumbing. We have 2 diesel generators, 12 Yamaha outboard motors, a compact diesel tractor, Polaris ATV, sand-point well system with pumps and filtration system, basic kitchen commercial appliances, just as a few examples of some of the items on the property that will need regular attention. This individual will also supervise one other employee who is able to assist with regular daily chores on the property including mowing, recycling, trash disposal, fuel hauling/pumping, propane, etc. We do regularly have various building and beautification projects each summer to help improve our existing facilities. We currently do all of our own work, and are available to provide thorough training in areas that candidate may not be proficient in. A good work ethic, good personality, good communication skills and a good attitude are imperative in this atmosphere. Room and board is included and a travel stipend is negotiable. We provide a very good working environment for our staff members and great opportunities to those who earn those privileges. We are honest and caring individuals and expect the same of our team members. The age of our staff members are 20-40. A fit, energetic individual is beneficial. Chef / Culinary & Kitchen Operations
Positions filled. Our chef team is responsible for management of all food service operations. The chef team will also be responsible for cooking and presentation of all meals for guests and staff. Based on the preferences of the chef team, an efficient operational system will be established including employee safety, teamwork, safe food practices, food preparation, proper food storage, cleanliness, professionalism and presentation. Our chefs will also have the opportunity to order necessary items from local vendors, conduct kitchen logistics, learn budgeting techniques, etc. We offer much room for creativity and as owners simply oversee the kitchen operation to assure productivity and minimal stress.
